The Martin Hives Honey Co. "Propolis" Tinctures

Propolis is a sticky compound made from tree sap by the honey bees to seal their hives. The medicinal properties in propolis were discovered thousands of years ago and used by ancient civilizations for everything from treating abscesses and putting it on wounds to fighting infection to embalming mummies.

Propolis is extremely high in Polyphenols which are antioxidants that fight disease and damage in the body. These Polyphenols are called Flavonoids and are commonly found in foods thought to have antioxidant properties. One such Flavonoid found in Propolis is "Pinocembrin" which acts as a an antifungal. Although scientific research is limited, Propolis is thought to have antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties, these anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties make Propolis helpful in wound healing.

Studies have shown that Propolis has anti inflammatory as well as anti-cancerous effects.
